Ontario Tourism & Visitor Guide
Welcome to Ontario!
One of Canada's most populated provinces, Ontario is a prime tourist destination. Ottawa is the nation's capital and features Parliament Hill among a wealth of cultural activities. A major Canadian centre, Toronto is home to arts venues, the Stock Market Place, multicultural neighbourhoods and the CN Tower, the world's tallest land-based freestanding structure. Wasaga Beach and Barrie are both less than two hours away by car proving to be popular getaway destinations. Also a short distance from Toronto is the breathtaking, must-see Niagara Falls and the theatre festival town of Niagara-on-the-Lake should not be missed by visitors to the area. The cities of Windsor, London, Stratford and Kitchener in Southwestern Ontario offer an abundance of activities, from the cultural Stratford Festival to Kitchener's renowned Oktoberfest. Northwestern Ontario offers many attractions, both in cities such as Thunder Bay and in nature reserves such as Quetico Provincial Park. The pristine waters and forests of Northeastern Ontario surround the popular get-away destinations of Muskoka and Parry Sound. For lovers of the outdoors, Algonquin Park offers a wide variety of camping, hiking, canoeing and other wilderness adventures.
